Tumblr is a long-form blogging and reblogging platform built around fandoms - books, films, TV shows, anime, music, and art. After the 2018 adult-content ban it lost most of its adult audience and has rebuilt itself as a fandom and creative-writing space, with a noticeable resurgence among UK teenagers since 2023 who treat it as a calmer, more chronological alternative to TikTok and Instagram. The dashboard is largely a reverse-chronological stream of blogs the user follows, with discovery driven by tags. Tumblr labels mature content and hides it from under-18 accounts, but the platform's open reblog model means a single image or piece of writing can spread widely, and the recent flood of AI-generated images and fanfic snippets has made discovery harder to predict. The 'Ask' feature, which allows anyone to send a question to a blog and is anonymous by default, is the most common vector for cyberbullying.

เด็กใช้แอปนี้อย่างไร

Teenagers use Tumblr to follow fandoms, post fan-art and fan-fiction, reblog from creators they admire, and keep multi-fandom 'side blogs' for different interests. Many treat their main blog as a journal that older relatives are unlikely to find, which is part of the appeal and part of the risk. Some get pulled into the Ask culture and answer anonymous questions in public, which can quickly turn from supportive to abusive. A subset use it as a softer mental-health support space, posting about anxiety or low mood and following blogs that do the same. The AI-image flood has changed dashboards in 2025-26 - large numbers of low-effort generated images now sit alongside human art, and some fandoms have become heated about labelling.

การตั้งค่าความเป็นส่วนตัวที่แนะนำ

Safe Mode

ตำแหน่ง: Settings -> Content you see -> Safe Mode

ตั้งค่าเป็น: On

Hides posts tagged or detected as mature. On for under-18s by default, but verify it is still on after any account changes.

Anonymous Asks

ตำแหน่ง: Account -> Settings -> Blog -> Ask -> Allow anonymous questions

ตั้งค่าเป็น: Off

Turns off anonymous Asks so the sender's blog name is always shown. This is the single most effective anti-bullying setting on Tumblr.

Direct Messages

ตำแหน่ง: Settings -> Privacy -> Who can message you

ตั้งค่าเป็น: Only blogs you follow

Stops strangers sending DMs, which are otherwise open by default.

Hidden Blog from Search

ตำแหน่ง: Account -> Settings -> Blog -> Visibility

ตั้งค่าเป็น: Hidden from search results

Stops the blog appearing in Tumblr's search and on external search engines like Google.

Tag Filters

ตำแหน่ง: Settings -> Content you see -> Filtered tags

ตั้งค่าเป็น: Add tags for distressing topics

Manually filter out tags around self-harm, eating disorders, and adult fandoms. Tumblr does not filter by topic automatically.
