Rumble is a video-sharing platform that positions itself as an alternative to YouTube with lighter content moderation. Along with other 'alt-tech' sites, that lighter moderation is the core concern: content that mainstream platforms remove — conspiracy theories, extremist and misogynistic material, and health misinformation — often circulates more freely. Ofcom now regulates video-sharing platforms and children's protection duties under the Online Safety Act.
Older children and teenagers may follow a creator who has moved to Rumble after being removed elsewhere, or land on it through links shared on other platforms. Because recommendation and moderation are lighter, a child can move from mainstream content into conspiracy or extremist material with fewer guardrails. The platform is less about direct contact risk and more about what a child is exposed to and radicalised by.
