I will treat all children with dignity and respect at all times

I will not be alone with a child unless in an open, observable space

I will not use physical contact beyond what is necessary and appropriate for my role

I will not photograph or film children without prior written consent from parents/carers and the organisation

I will not discuss or share information about the children I work with outside the organisation

I will act as a positive role model and uphold the organisation's values at all times

I will not connect with children or young people via personal social media accounts

Any communication with children will only take place through approved organisational channels

I will not share children's personal information with anyone outside the organisation

If a child contacts me personally outside of the activity, I will inform the safeguarding lead

I will report any safeguarding concern to the DSL/safeguarding lead immediately

I understand that I must not investigate concerns myself or share them with other volunteers

I will record any concern in writing as soon as possible after the event

I understand that failure to report a concern may itself be a safeguarding failure
