How to Report on Google (Search, Play Store, Gmail)

How to report child safety concerns, inappropriate content, or harmful apps through Google's reporting channels.

1

Report inappropriate Google Play content

In the Google Play Store, open the app or game listing, tap the three-dot menu, and select 'Flag as inappropriate'. Choose the reason, such as 'Child endangerment' or 'Sexual content'. Google's review team will assess the app.

2

Report harmful search results

If you encounter harmful content in Google Search results, click the three dots next to the result and select 'About this result', then 'Report'. For illegal content, use Google's legal removal request form at support.google.com/legal.

3

Report child exploitation content

Google has a dedicated reporting form for child sexual abuse material at support.google.com/websearch. Reports are reviewed by specialist teams and referred to NCMEC and law enforcement as appropriate.

4

Set up Google Family Link

Use Google Family Link to manage your child's device, set screen time limits, approve app downloads, and filter content. Go to families.google.com to set up or review your family group settings.

5

Enable SafeSearch and review account settings

Ensure SafeSearch is enabled on all devices your child uses by going to google.com/preferences. Review your child's Google account settings, YouTube restrictions, and Gmail filters. Consider using a supervised Google account for children under 13.
