How to Report on Netflix

How to set up a PIN to restrict content, manage profiles for children, and report inappropriate content on Netflix.

1

Open your Account settings

Sign in to Netflix and click or tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Select 'Account' from the drop-down menu. This opens your account management page where parental control settings can be found.

2

Set up a Parental Controls PIN

In the Account page, scroll to 'Parental Controls'. Enter or create a four-digit PIN. This PIN will be required to watch content above a certain maturity level and to change account settings, preventing children from bypassing restrictions.

3

Apply content restrictions to your child's profile

Return to Account and select 'Manage Profiles'. Click the pencil icon on your child's profile, then set the 'Viewing Restrictions' to the appropriate maturity level for their age — Little Kids, Older Kids, Teen, or All Maturity Levels. Save your changes.

4

Report inappropriate content

If you find content on Netflix that you believe is inappropriate or has been miscategorised, navigate to the title and select the three-dot menu or 'Rate' option. You can also contact Netflix Support via the Help Centre to report a concern about specific content.

5

Report child safety concerns to the relevant authority

Netflix does not host user-generated content. If you encounter content that appears to involve the sexual exploitation of children, report it to the Internet Watch Foundation (iwf.org.uk) and CEOP (ceop.police.uk) in addition to contacting Netflix support.

This is general educational guidance, not professional advice. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 (UK) or 911 (US).
