How to Report on Snapchat
How to report concerning content, accounts, or messages on Snapchat to protect young users.
Identify what you want to report
You can report Snaps, Stories, Spotlight content, accounts, group chats, and individual messages. Navigate to the content or account in question.
Press and hold or tap the menu
On a Snap or Story, press and hold on the content. On a profile, tap the three-dot menu icon. In a chat, press and hold the specific message you want to report.
Select 'Report' and choose a reason
Tap 'Report Snap', 'Report Account', or 'Report' depending on the context. Select the reason that best describes your concern — options include 'Involves a child', 'Harassment or bullying', and 'Inappropriate content'.
Add details and submit
Provide any additional context if prompted. Tap 'Submit' to send your report. Snapchat's Trust and Safety team reviews reports and takes action based on their Community Guidelines.
Consider blocking the account
After reporting, you may also want to block the account to prevent further contact with your child. Go to their profile, tap the three-dot menu, and select 'Block'. If the situation involves exploitation of a child, report to CEOP immediately.
This is general educational guidance, not professional advice. If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 (UK) or 911 (US).
