The built-in parental controls are comprehensive and well-designed, offering age-appropriate content filtering, time limits, and educational goal-setting. With proper setup, a Fire tablet can be one of the safest digital devices for younger children.
Go to Settings > Profiles & Family Library > Add a Child Profile. Enter your child's name and date of birth. The age determines which content filters are applied automatically.
Amazon Kids+ provides access to thousands of age-appropriate apps, books, and videos. Subscribe through the child profile setup or via your Amazon account. Content is curated and regularly reviewed.
In the child profile settings, configure time limits for total usage, and optionally require educational goals (such as 30 minutes of reading) to be met before games and videos are unlocked.
